VRA 7.3 newly provisioned VMs are not available for XaaS service blueprints

Hello Everyone,

We're facing an issue in private cloud environment running on VRA 7.3 . For some services e.g. Backup subscription , we are using XAAS service . We are executing a workflow everyday that creates a mapping of Business groups with VMs in it and storing in a Global XAAS variable.

While loading the Backup subscription form in VRA for a specific business group, it is first querying VM list from the global variable . What we see is for each business groups ,some VMs are missing from the list , specially the new ones . We've executed mapping working manually which is a succesful , but no change in the list. Any idea why so ?

Thank you .

What does your backup process have to do with grabbing a list of VMs from a business group? Can you explain more about this process you are using? I think there are much better ways to do backup job mapping on a per-business group level rather than to mess with XaaS and storing global variables.

This issue is related to "Backup as a service."

whenever requesting for backup it should populate the vm's in drop down box which is recently provisioned vm's as per customized decision from BG.

But it is not populating as per customized decision due to bugs.

You don't know anything about his/her process in this regard, though, and there are hundreds of possible ways to go about BaaS. Please, let's wait to hear from OP before declaring a solution.

it is a trying to get the list of vms to enable end users to schedule/unschedule backup for any vm in a BG . The expected behaviour is explained by BPK2.

I checked the KB but unable to understand how is related to __asd_catalogrequestid . Could you explain or share any link/documentation ?

Thank you in advance.

Without actually seeing your XaaS and more details of what you have, it's really very difficult to try and give you suggestions on why it's not working.
