Trying to use Automation Center to replace LabManager

This is the stuff of nightmares. I'm just trying to set up a simple system where I have a ESXi host and I want to make some template VMs that my support people can spin up and use in the browser and have those machine run on this host.. That's it, simple. LabManager did this, setup was simple and straight forward. I'm running through the install and I have NO idea what all the terms they throw at us means in this context. Fabric, Tenants, Endpoints, Business Groups, Catalog, Blueprints, etc.

I'm guessing I need to have vCenter Server to use this product and can't just add ESXi hosts like in Labmanager, fine I got that. How do I add my vCenter server to Automation Center? Where do I make the templates? Do I make them directly on the ESXi host then run some installer on them?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you very much.

Ok, now that I got that out of my system, I think I was able to figure everything out. However the setup is still convoluted and unnecessarily complex.
