I assume you're referring to a VM status?
If so, there's a way to list all VMs and get their associated status, but you should not change their status.
This is because the Master Workflow is designed to push a machine through the various stages of provisioning, and there are a good deal of steps involved that enforce integrity between the VA and the IaaS server.
Is there a bigger picture that you're trying to achieve?
