„Snapshot.Policy.AgeLimit“ vCAC 6.2.1 behavior

I added the Option to a test VM to verify the behavior when the age is expired.

I can only see that the Detail Site of the VM has an Information about that and the Snapshot cannot be reverted.

Is that the Expected behavior?

I guess so. This is from documentation:

  1. Snapshot.Policy.AgeLimit -- Sets the age limit, in days, for snapshots that can be applied to machines. When a snapshot exceeds the age limit, the Apply option is no longer available. When the snapshot age limit is reached, the snapshot remains but you can no longer revert to it.  You can delete the snapshot using the vSphere client.

I was hoping that there are more action possible when the AgeLimit is reached.

Like a Owner Notification. But at the moment i can only do this by vCO, I think...

- Loop over VMs with Snap

- Check Snapshot Creation Date

- Get Custom Property Value and calculte if the Age Limit is reached.

- Notify User if neccessary

Kind Regards,

Markus
