Resource actions on machines deployed using a hidden service (tShirt sizing).

Looking for some guidance.

vRA 7.2.

Customer wants to use tShirt sizing for their new requests.  We have this working by hiding a the provisioning request behind an XaaS form.  But we want to hide the catalog item from the users the provision WF is calling.  Actually have this working by only entitling it to a vro service account. At the end we change the deployment back to the original requester (original@local.corp -> vro@local.corp -> original@local.corp). The problem is original owner is not entitled to the hidden catalog item (as expected).  This means they cannot request resource actions (power, destroy, etc).  Any thoughts on how I can entitle those resource actions without entitling the original requester to the hidden catalog item? (It’s definitely an  entitlement issue, as the actions are available if I entitle the owner to the catalog item / hidden service).

In your entitlements setup page, do you have the checkbox that says "Actions only apply to items defined in this entitlement" checked?

You may just want to upgrade them to 7.3 as it has built-in t-shirt sizing which would make things a lot easier.

We were able to get this working in 7.2.

Basically place the base blueprint in a service they are entitled to, but inactive. The service doesn't show up in their catalog, but they can still access the actions on the hidden blueprint.

Not sure if this will work with other versions.
