How to take a second snapshot?

Hello

I'm using vRA 7.6.

The "Take a snapshot" action was added for the deployed VM.

I can't take a second snapshot after the first snapshot was created. Only actions that delete and revert snapshot are displayed.

Is there any solution?

Thank you !

Hello!

For new Deployments you can set the Custom Property "Snapshot.Policy.Limit" on the "vSphere vCenter Machine" Item in the Blueprint. For existing VMs add the Property here:

This works on 7.4 and should also work on 7.6 -> https://docs.vmware.com/en/vRealize-Automation/7.6/com.vmware.vra.prepare.use.doc/GUID-491153BB-5B6A...

By default, vRealize Automation allows one snapshot per machine. This setting can be changed with custom properties:

Snapshot.Policy.Limit

Hi,

Is there any way I can apply custom properties to VMs that have already been deployed?

Thanks!

Hello!

Sure... Tab "Items" -> "Machines" -> Click on the VM -> Select "Reconfigure" on the right -> on the tab "Properties" you can add/edit/remove properties.

I'm sorry but...... I can't find the tab "Items"

If you mean "managed machine", "reconfigure" is invisible ....

Please advice me.

Thank you for reply, Robert.

Maybe under "Deployments"? I have no 7.6 Installation to check...

Yes, Deployment !

I've added a "reconfigure" action and can finally change the custom properties!

Thanks very much Robert !

Have a nice weekend : )
