How to limit CPU MHZ

Hi All

One of the offerings we want to achieve is a limited / Capped CPU MHZ.

We want a lower power and high power offering on the same machine type.

How can I do this via vCAC?

Would you just cap the VM or is there a "nicer" way of doing this?

Thanks

This is easiest achieved by using two separate Infrastructure (IaaS) blueprints. The blueprint will allow you to quickly configure min/max resource allocations for a given machine in the UI...is this not sufficient enough?

If it is a fixed limit then yes Smiley Happy

It must be enforced so it is the same across processor types.

Thanks

Out of the box, there is no way to limit based on CPU MHZ for a blueprint, it is the number of CPU's that you can limit. You could probably do something with the workflow designer to modify the VM to set some limit on the MHZ assigned to the machine once it is provisioned via PowerCLI commands to vSphere, but I would look at what you are really trying to accomplish before doing that and see if you can do it within the framework f the blueprint min / max CPU settings for a particular blueprint.
