How to get RDP and SSH back in vRA 8

During migration to vRA 8.2p1 (or earlier in the migration assessment) several "built in Resource Actions" are marked as "Not Ready".

Two of them are pretty important to us:
- Connect using RDP
- Connect using SSH
(I will keep "Change Owner" for later)

Has anyone managed to create those Day-2 resource actions in vRA8?

Did you manage to get this working somehow?

@dgerol3   yes and no, I have read that this functionability is added in vRA 8.3.
It already existed in vRA Cloud and is now available in vRA 8.3 "onp-remise"

(called Connect to remote console)

However, I've had no change to test it yet.

I attached a screen shot of what "Connect to remote console" looks like in vRA 8.3.  It opens a console to the VM in the web browser the same as in vCenter. It doesn't use a SSH or RDP client.

Thanks for your replies!

That unfortuntely is not a very effective Day-2 operation as it needs additional vCenter privileges for the vRA requestor in order to perfporm a VM remote console, and is for sure not a good replacement for a terminal session to a linux machine, as well as not permitting any copy/paste functionality.

Does anyone know if it is on the VMware roadmap to re-introduce the functionality to launch local remote clients?

Lack of RDP and SSH is a blocker for our vRA7->vRA8 migration.

Those options are widely used in our environment and cannot be replaced by vcenter access.
