Do we need to restart vRA appliance , if the IAAS Database and IAAS windows servers restarted ??

Hello All,

We have simple setup of vRA 7.2 , 1 vRA Appliance, 1 Orchestrator, 1 Windows server IAAS, 1 Windows SQL Server for IAAAS data base.

During the regular windows patching Cycle, these servers will be rebooted, do we need to restart the vRA and vRo appliances as well after restarting the IAAS and DB server ? Will impact the server builds ??

Technically .. not required. If do not want see the errors in the vRA Infa logs please follow the shutdown and start up sequence.

ShutDown :

1) Proxy Agents.

2) Dem Workers

3) Dem Orchestrator

4) IAAS Manager

5) IAAS Web

6) vRA VA

7) MS SQL Server ( Data Base)

😎 Load Balancer

Start Up :

Reverse order of shutdown.

in my expereince of distributed deployement , it is better to reboot complete stack to prevent inconsistencies during server deployments. one of the common issue i have seen is VM stuck in in-progress or different other inconsistent state.
