Delete a request undert request tab

Hi, Do you know how can I delete a request from the list of requests? I have a big list, but the only action available for them is "view details".
Thank you by advance

You will not be able to delete it on the UI, AFAIK.

Might involve digging into DB. Just create more requests and it will get buried in the lot Smiley Wink

What is your use case for deleting requests? Are you talking about finished requests, pending requests or in-progress requests? What's your expectation for delete for these types of requests? A finished request represents an important audit log and hence adhoc deletion is not desirable.

Thanks Rags

I think the question is... if VMware deems it to be an important audit log ... why does that button exist? I don't think it was there in 6.0.

Has anybody found an answer to this? I just did a lot of testing and would like to clean up the successful requests by deleting them. The delete button is grayed out however.

I just want to make sure I completely understand what you are seeing and what you are looking to do before I hand over the tools that could destroy the DB.  So if I am understanding things correctly you have left over orphan entries in the "requests" tabl that are not showing up in the "Managed Machines" Tab correct?

Yes that's it. The request entries stay out there even after a machine is destroyed - I assume for auditing purposes, but I would like to be able to clean them up, especially after all the testing I have been doing. There is a delete button but it doesn't seem to be available (grayed out).

I was looking for away to do a mass purge also and was not able to find a way for that.  With that said what I do have is a process to remove one offs that are left over like when a job has failed and the VM still shows up in requests as "in progress"  So I do not have a way to purge in mass and the one off process is very time consuming in where you have to get the UID for the request and run a procedure to remove the entries from the database.  The request and request numbers are located in the cafe db
