vmotion implementation

we have four servers and iscsi storage. Three for hosts and one for vcenter.We are Planning for 18 virtual machines.But  I need to apply vmotion for 7 vms.How to implement vmotion for these 7 vms.

Hello,

It is pretty simple. 1st you have  install ESX/ESXi on the three servers, then VCentre on the other.

Lets assume you are using the 60 day trial version.

Login in to Vcentre with Vsphere client. Create a cluster add the host to the cluster and create the VMs, Viola.

I recommend using VM documents to set it up as to fit your enviroment.

Hello and welcome to the forums.

You will need to create the networking for vMotion as well.  Check the vSphere Datacenter Administration Guide for the vMotion requirements, and check the ESXi Configuration Guide for the vMotion setup.

can you describe ??

Can I install some of the vm in local storage and some of them are in external storage(SAN). Then can we appy vmotion for these vms in SAN???

It is a little more complicated than building 4 hosts and sticking them in a cluster.
