vMotion option greyed out

Hi All,

I have created a new cluster of esx 4.0 update 2 hosts in DMZ zone and configured the HA by enabling all the necessary ports on the firewall. When I try to vmotion live VM i can see the vmotion options are greyed out and on the summary tab it shows "vmotion enabled = no". I have another similar cluster and i found out that there "vmotion enabled= yes". All the hosts are properly licensed with enterprise plus. DRS is enabled. VMotion port is configured in distributed switch exactly the similar way on both the clusters.

Please advice what could have gone wrong here with one cluster.

Check to make sure that the VMotion port group has the checkbox for VMotion selected. Also, check the port group name across all hosts involved. It is case sensitive.

Hi Thanks for replying you were right. Actually the Vmotion check box was not selected on the vmk0 port group.
