I see a DRS Group Manager now in the Cluster settings. I'm not sure I'm fully understanding what it's all about and I'm having difficulty locating documentation. Can someone point me to some or explain it please?
DRS group manager is used for VM-host affinity. You can create VM group and set rule to place these VMs on some hosts.

OK. Thanks.
How do the affinity rules affect HA? Does it hold only while hosts are up and if one goes down and HA kicks in the VM restarts on another host or will it NOT restart and hold to the affinity even in HA event?
There are VMs that i don't want failing over like Exchagne Clusters which have their own redundancy and fault tolerance so i need to know how to ensure they dont.

You could set rules that are in effect: Vm1-Vm3 MUST run on ESXi host1-2, but never on any other host. This will be respected by HA.

If you want to for some reason prevent HA from restarting a certain VM than go to the Cluster HA settings, select that VM and set it to disabled.
