VM migration: Is routing needed between two storage.??

Hi Team, We've one old storage connected to two mellanox switches for redundancy and mapped in 3 Esxi servers with iscsi controllers, this data network is in different network and vlan.   And a new storage is connected to the same two switches for redundancy and to move the VM's from old storage to new all flash netapp storage, it's in different vlan and network. This new storage also mapped in Esxi Hosts iscsi adapters.  Do we need any routing between two storage networks or vlans for VM migration???

Or simply, Is routing needed between two storage for VM migration.??

Greetings,

if you plan to use VMware's "Storage VMotion" to migrate the VMs then no routing between the storage boxes is needed, because the data copying/moving is done by the ESXi hosts.
