Transparent Page Sharing changes in 4.1?

Hi,

I recently upgraded (reinstalled) a clients ESX 4.0 U2 environment to ESXi 4.1.

I noticed some changes on the Resource Pools sharing with RAM.

I'll attach some screenshots,

Below is ESX 4.0 U2

Below is ESXi 4.1 U1 (also added some RAM to the cluster)

Notice the change in Shared, what has changed in 4.1?

I've noticed a change in how Windows 2008 allocates host memory, it consumes nearly everything allocated.

This is probably beacuse of the use of Large Pages.

Hi,

May be related, however we're not using Intel CPUs at all. Opteron 2356 and Opteron 2435. Is it still related?
