About to do some work on my san and was going to migrate the machines to local storage ready for this work.
The VM's are using nics connected to a DVS.
When i tried to migrate the live machines i got the following error immediatley - A general system error occurred: failed to copy VM config to VMotion dest (vim.fault.InvalidDeviceSpec)
When i powered down the VM i got a different message after about 20% stating - Invalid configuration for device 3
What was strange was when i changed the nics to be on standard switches the machine migrated fine to local storage. I was then able to change the nics to be dvs again. Just wondered if anyone else has seen this?
