I tried to make a clone of the VCSA (6.7) VM as another temporary backup and when I got to the 'Ready to complete' page of the cloning setup where you can click 'Finish' to begin the cloning, but I got the following error:
"There are storage DRS faults on the page. Resolve the faults before continuing".
On that summary page, the Datastore section shows "None", and underneath it, a red-text link is displayed: "view faults". Once you open the link, a new Datastore Faults window appears with a description below that displays only "vim.fault.NotFound"
I checked the Datastores tab for the VCSA VM and it shows the LUN it is in which is part of a datastore cluster. I checked the cluster and there is currently an informational alert on its summary tab that says "Storage DRS invocation failed on datastore our-datastore-cluster-name"
On the Monitor tab of the datastore cluster, under All Issues (under Issues and Alarms), the only issue listed shows the same alert, "Storage DRS invocation failed on datastore our-datastore-cluster-name".
What is this error and what do I need to do to resolve this so I can clone this VM? The VCSA seems to be operating normally without any functional issues. Are they related and will this cause problems for other VMs on this datastore?
UPDATE:
I went ahead and tried to patch the VCSA anyway (the cloning is one of my backup techniques, along with the snapshot before patching), but the services failed to start, particularly, the vmware-vpxd service. So I decided to roll back to the snapshot version, but that did the same thing, which leads me to believe this issue may be related. Anyone have any ideas on this? I something going on between this VM and the datastore it's run from?
