Hello dear community.
I have a need to forward qinq to a vCloud VM.
but my cloud provider says that this cannot be done because there is a limitation in vmware = vcloud
Task
The network provider (telecom operator) provides me with an L2 channel with qinq support, which I need in my work, I just need to throw this traffic to the virtual router Mikrotik, which is located in vcloud.
Can you tell me how to do this, or is it true that this is a limitation of vmware ? (I just don't believe it is).
thank you very much.
There is no native Q-Q native integration in VCD. For tenants, either they fall under overlay networks or VLAN backed networks and we route the respective network to reach upstream routers, you can do additional tunneling there.
but if the network is served in trunk mode, can't I transfer the vlans that I need from the virtual router of the router ?
Trunking the segments is fine . However I didn't get your query on transfer the vlans that I need from the virtual router of the router ? Can you be little more precise ?
Just change your provider.
I am serious: if a provider refuses to help or doesn't have tools and instruments in order to help you — a customer — then leave it and change to something else.
Personally, I left one provider and made a contract with https://www.cloud4u.com/cloud-hosting/cloud-server/ Cloud4u service, which is still helping me. So now, when I see that people have problems with their providers -- I try to change their minds about something else. Because I am sure: we need to change things around us in order to become happy.
