What is the 'APP' for ?

Hey guys, this may be a dummy question,

but I'm not really able to figure out what the 'App' stands for in 'vShield App' ???

Isn't it only the new 'Zones' productname,

which is able to configurate some firewall and compliance rules, to audit and monitor them and to easily stretch out any rules above an virtualized infrastructure ?

pls excuse my worse english 😃

with kind regards, slowfinger

hi idle-jam, thank you for your answer,

can you please create a scenario what kind of applications you think of and what kind of threats may attack those applications?

Don't where the name comes from but vShield App is similar to vShield zones with the additional benefit of:

  • Flow Control - I believe this would allow to inspect application traffic
  • Security Groups - set up grouping based on business units, etc.
