Hi All,
I have installed vShield manager 4.1 on one of my ESX servers. When i try to install vShield zones, i get the following error:

I have gone through the steps mentioned in the following thread.
http://communities.vmware.com/thread/291576,
But when i try to delete the virtual switch with the command
"esxcfg-vswitch -D vmservice-vmknic-pg vmservice-vswitch", i get the following error:
Failed to remove portgroup: vmservice-vmknic-pg, Error: Unable to delete portgroup "vmservice-vmknic-pg", for the following reasons: 1 active ports, VM Kernel NIC
Please let me know how can i reslove this error.
Also in the log files, i have found the following entries:

If you can, please file a Technical Support Request with the vShield Team.
There are multiple situations that can cause the error message you are describing, and it would be best to have a technician take a look at it directly.

Jon Hemming
I too have had that problem. In order to get vShield installed, once I had cleaned up the perviously unsuccessful installation, I had to ensure that all hosts in my datacenter were powered on. The vShield install is very clunky and not at all straight forward. Appears to be a lack of error checking and no good uninstall process, as a lot of the settings a left behind. Hopefully these problems will be fixed in future updates.
