Installing vCNS onto a vCenter that has had NSX uninstalled

Probably an odd query. We have a lab vCenter that was used for a bit to test out installing NSX. What we'd like to do it now make it look like our production vCenters and have vCNS on it instead. After NSX is removed can anyone think of a reason why vCNS cannot be implemented as usual?

I come from more of an AD\Exchange background so just wondering if there is anything NSX would leave behind even after removal making it a better option to start a fresh lab vCenter.

Thanks!

Hi,

Your query is absolutely valid Smiley Happy . From the network solutions perspective (VCNS/NSX),we should register only one solution with Virtual Center server.Ratio should be always 1:1

Rule remains the same in below scenarios.

1. More than 1 VCNS/NSX registered with same VC.

2. One VCNS and One NSX registered with same VC.

Keep an eye on Virtual Center Server-Solutions Manager tab.We should not see two network solutions over there.Even if things may be working as expected it still remain unsupported and eventually few features wont work.

By any chance if you still see NSX over there, please remove the plugin (com.vmware.vShieldManager) from VC mob http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=102536...
