Edge without FW VM?

Dumb question, can you deploy a vShield Edge for Load Balancer functionality - without running the ESX host FW vShield?

I assume you are talking about the vShield App/Zones FW that gets installed on each host. If so, then yes, you can install a vShield Edge FW with the load balancing capability without also installing the vShield App/Zones FW.
