Does vCloud need to be installed to use vShield Edge?

I am interested in the VPN feature of vShield Edge,  but am not ready to roll out vCloud Director.  Can vShield Edge be installed without vCloud Director (assuming I have the vCloud Suite Enterprise suite)?

Absolutely, vCNS & vShield Edge can be installed without vCloud Director (in which case all configuration is managed via the vShield Manager/vSphere Client vShield plugin).
