how to insert files from physical machines into vmdk

Hi any advise on the script i could use to upload files from host machines in to vmdk directly

You should just do a normal copy from the physical server to the VM to the drive which you want..

Can you put the file on a datastore? If you do that and have vsphere access, you can use Copy-DatastoreItem

Hi not sure if this will work i am trying to copy files from my physical host to a directory in a vm but my physical host cannot access the vm (ie no network connectivity)

Sorry, I sent you the wrong command. As long as VMware tools is installed on the VM, you can copy using Copy-VMGuestFile
