snmp traps for VMware vCenter Heartbeat

Hi,

Since last week we configured VMware vCenter Server Heartbeat.

We would like to implement this in our nagios checks by using snmp traps.

I did not find anything in the documentation of VMware vcenter server heartbeat how to configure this.

In vcenter it is quiet easy to configure snmp traps, but I have not seen an alarm in vcenter that will raise in case for example an automatic failover through the heartbeat happens.

Can any of you tell if this is possible to do, if so, how?

Cheers

Uwe

Hi,

as far as i know that is not possible.

You could Monitor your Heartbeat environment only with the integrated Monitoring.

You will be informed with email if an error occurs. The configuration is decribed in the Admin Guide in the section vCenter Heartbeat Monitoring.
