OS Patching with vCenter Server Heartbeat 6.5

Hello,

I was under the impression that with vCenter Heartbeat 6.5 a manual reboot of the server wouldn't trigger a switchover. Last Windows patch cycle vCenter Heartbeat switched from primary to secondary after the patches were applied, then the service came back to the primary node once the secondary node was patched.

I suppose I can just stop the heartbeat services during the patching cycle to avoid the switchovers but can somebody confirm that this is the expected behavior of vCenter Heartbeat.

Thanks,

Juan.

After the patch was that a autoreboot or manually some on logged into the server and rebooted, i mean when you patched the secondary node.

Your correct, manual reboot will not trigger autoswitchover.

Thanks, the KB applies up to HB 6.4, have you tried it in 6.5?
