Hi,
In many scenario, virtual distributed switch is needed to setup primary and secondary servers. Is there VMware virtual distributed switch? Thanks.
Hi,
what are you looking for? For Heartbeat, you do not Need a vDS to Setup two Servers.
You could also use the "normal" vSwitch for Heartbeat.

In V2V, if primary and secondary server on two different ESXi hosts, I have to use vDS, right?
No. You could use a normal vSwitch.
You don't need a vds.

How can you set up primary and secondary VMs on 2 different esxi hosts with a vSS?
Hi,
there are serval Options.Check the Installation and upgrade pdf at page 30.
You could use a two or one NIC configuration.
We are using a two nic configuration with different VLAN´s on Portgroups defined on a vSwitch.
The VM has two Network Card. One in Portgroup 10 and the other for example in portgroup 20.
I don´t know your Network configuration. This is one possibility.
Why do you think you need a vDS?
