After switch-over, vCSHB cannot restart any of the protected applications

Hi,

After switch-over, vCSHB cannot restart  any of the protected applications. I observe the following error

in heartbeat console:

“try to start service VPXD [try 1]: time out has expired and the operation has not been completed…”

The switch-over stucks at 75%. Does anyone have any idea what was wrong? Thanks.

Also, I am observing the following error in heartbeat console:

The passive server attempted to access the file: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10_50.VIM_SQLEXP\MSSQL\DATA\MSDBLog.ldf. This failed because the file was in use by another application. Please ensure that there are no applications which access protected files running on the passive. Please see vCSHB Ref: 991.

The two error messages are completely different and likely unrelated to each other. You should probably go onto the secondary and look at the vCenter logs to see why VPXD isn't starting. Please post the vpxd.log from http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&docTypeID=DT_KB_1_1&e... and I could help you more.
