Am I the only one confused by the way VMware has their downloads setup?
I know that I downloaded an older version of the vCSA, but I'm looking for a newer version. I think I had the 5.0 appliance and read that the 5.1 appliance uses postgress rather than DB2 which is great because I can't seem to install the 5.0 version ... Any help would be appreciated.
thanks
Hi,
VMware vCenter Server Appliance 5.0.1 is not yet released for download as not able to find it in VMware download site https://www.vmware.com/tryvmware/p/activate.php?p=vmware-vsphere5-ent&lp=default
vCSA 5.0.1 is the one using PostgreSQL
I think you should wait for the official release from VMware or an update to vCSA 5.0.1
Hope the information is useful

Hi vmwaredownload,
the best site is vmware only where you will find most of the tested toosl.
Please see the below link-
http://vmwire.com/2011/07/15/vsphere-vcenter-server-linux-virtual-appliance-quick-start-guide/
Where did the vCenter Server Appliance 5.0 go? I can wait for 5.0.1, but would like to get 5.0 at least...was that removed?
assuming you have an Active SnS, you can download below
Any ETA on a release of a new version of the Virtual Center Appliance?
The only timeframe for the vCenter Server Appliance is mentioned in the vCenter Server release notes
Note: vCenter Server Appliance 5.0 Update1 will be available later this year

Is the vCenter Virtual Appliance running on version 5.0.0 (without update) compatible with ESX 5.0.0 Update 1?
According to http://partnerweb.vmware.com/comp_guide2/sim/interop_matrix.php it is compatible.
André
Thanks Andre, much appreciated.
