Hello,
I installed Vcenter Server for Essentials and now I will add a new host. The host is an ESXi 4.1.0 Build 260247. If I type the license key ) for VMware vSphere 4 Essentials I get a warning:
"Some features might become unavailable after license assignment"
Host:
From vSphere 4 Hyperviser (key)
To vSphere 4 Essentials (key)
What about this warning?
When the host runs in eval mode, all features are available...
Assigning a vSphere 4 Essential license key disables some of these features such as DRS etc which would require an Enterprise license as an example..

The host doesn't run in eval mode. Does the host require a reboot after installing the new license?
No, it doesn't require a reboot.
I just assumed you've installed a new host without a license assigned... then adding it to vCenter would trigger such a message.
/Rubeck
I agree with Rubeck, the message you see is more of a reminder then a warning. So nothing to worry. If there were features which are currently used/activated and not available in your new license, ESXi would refuse to accept the license key.

If your host is currently running on the trial license - the license will expire, but by adding it to your VC and licensing it, you will be changing this to the permanent essentials license.
Of course, the temp license has all features for all license versions, while the essentials license loses some functionality. As such, you receive a warning.
