Can you connect directly to the ESXi host using the vSphere client.? If No, the VM which is running on the parent ESXi is not able to talk to the vCenter or the parent ESXi host.

Can you try to create Virtual Machine portgroup on the vSwitch0 of the Parent ESXi and assign this portgroup to the Nested ESXi VM and check.?

Hi

For the nested ESXi, are you using VMware Fusion?

Is the vCenter in the same subnet as ESXi Management?

Hi , yes mi vcenter is 172.16.7.11 , my three ESXI 172.16.7.12, 172.16.7.13, 172.16.7.14 , ping OK

my scenario is a esxi physical with AMD 8320 , virtualizing the other esxi and vcenter.

Is the vCenter running as a VM in your Fusion or inside the ESXi?

You mentioned that you can connect to ESXi with vSphere Client perfectly.

Did you connect from your host (VMware Fusion)?

Are you using vCenter Server Appliance or Windows Based vCenter?
If a windows based, install vSphere Client in the vCenter, RDP into the vCenter, and try to connect with vSphere Client from the vCenter Server and see if it works.

Also note that when you are powering on/connecting a network adapter of the ESXi running on Fusion, it will ask you to input your username and password like below screenshot.

Make sure you input correct username & password, do not skip/cancel it.

Just to clarify, vCenter Server as well as the 3 ESXI hosts are running as virtual machines on the hardware ESXI host, i.e. the vCenter Server is not a nested VM in one of the virtual ESXi hosts?

How did you configure the virtual hosts' network settings? Did you assign multiple virtual NICs? Does any other VMkernel port use the same subnet as the Management network? A screen shot of physical ESXi host's vSwitch configuration which shows how the VMs are connected might help.

Where's the vCenter Server?

Btw you may want to take a look at http://www.virtuallyghetto.com/2012/08/how-to-enable-nested-esxi-other.html for information about the difference of vhv.allow and vhv.enable. For networking  it may also be required to enable promiscuous mode for the port groups to which the virtual ESXi hosts are connected (see http://www.virtuallyghetto.com/2013/11/why-is-promiscuous-mode-forged.html)

vcenter was removed, I will do a new deploy again, if I see that I have the wrong option in the config, all my NICs are in promiscuous mode .

I will inform them making these changes!
