vcenter 5.5 - adding domain users

I seem to successfully join my vcenter 5.5 server to my domain but for some reason I am not successful in adding domain users to the vcenter server.  i'm attaching a screen shot where I try to add users but it doesn't seem to see my domain in the list?  maybe i'm looking in the wrong place?  tips/suggestions appreciated.

Thanks!

Is it a fresh install or a upgrade from vCenter Server 5.1

Can you login to https://<fqdn of vcenter >:9443/vsphere-client after you have installed Web Client on vCenter Machine . Use the credentials username- administrator@vpshere.local and the password that you have set during installation.

Browse to Administration > Sign-On and Discovery > Configuration in the vSphere Web Client and check if there is a identity source already present.

If not add one .

Although the links are for vCenter 5.1 the steps more or less remain the same.

You would have to add an Identity Source as vCenter Server 5.5 uses SSO for authenticaion.

Check the Post Installation Steps on KB http://lb.vmware.com/kb/2058224

The links provided in the previous post should help in adding identity source
