vSphere client on Windows 7 - client closes when trying to import machine

Windows 7 Professional, vSPhere Client 4.0.0, vSphere vCenter 4.0.0 running on Server 2008 R2

The client works for everything except importing a machine. Once you click the menu to import a machine, either from a specific host or from the resource pool or cluster, the client exits with no error given and no errors in the Windows event logs.

The same function works from the same client on XP or on Server 2008 R2. Complete un-install and re-install does not fix anything.

Probably not much help, but I have exactly the same setup with exactly the same fault.

I am seeing the same issue on three machines I have tested on. Although one machine with 32-bit windows 7 worked fine. Keen to find an answer on this one

I have Win 7 x64, found this article which seems to resolve this issue
