We've recently started using distributed switches in our environment and I have a question about using host profiles in a VDS environment to configure the uplinks on hosts during profile application.
If hosts are not identical or identically cabled for network, how can I use the VDS section in the host profile to properly configure the right vmnics for specified port groups? Can it be specified while applying the host profile if vmnics are different? Should I instead configure the "different" hosts manually from the networking view for the VDS to add the host and map the uplinks?
Please let me know if I need more clarification.
