vCenter upgrade from 2.5 U3 to U5 gone wrong!!

Hi,

I just tried to do an upgrade of vCenter from 2.5 U3 to U5. The database is MS SQL & I just rolled back to the backup of the DB I took before the upgrade.

I took a backup of vCenter before the upgrade using VCB & backupexec however I cannot restore through backup exec.

Any suggestions on what I can do? I am unable to start the virtual center service.

Easiest would be to uninstall the new version of vCenter and install the version of vCenter that matches your DB version. Everything is contained in the DB, so a reinstall and pointing to the existing database will get you back up.
