vCenter permissions - Modifying VM device settings

I'm trying to add a role which will allow the members of the role access to modify whether a HDD in a VM is in independant mode or not, but not modify the network which the VM is connected to.

Does anyone know if it's possible to do this? The nearest I've found is Virtual Machine > Configuration > Modify device settings - but I don't see any way to drill down further to allow changing the disk mode but not the portgroup that the VM NIC is connected to.

Ideas?

I don't' believe you can break that down any further, the permission you're referring to will allow the users in this role to modify any of the VM devices which includes HD,NIC,etc.
