    As you can see, I'm not sure why some remote sites go into one dn path and others to another i.e default-site or default-first-site. I had no option to choose as it seemed to do this on its own. Can someone tell me what this means as I don't want to experience gremlins down the road and vmwares documentation on this is either non existant or barried deep on the internet.

    Primary

    cn=servername,cn=Servers,cn=SITE,cn=Sites,cn=Configuration,dc=vsphere,dc=local

    Remote

    cn=Servers,cn=default-site,cn=Sites,cn=Configuration,dc=vsphere,dc=local

    cn=Servers,cn=Default-First-Site,cn=Sites,cn=Configuration,dc=vsphere,dc=local

    Thanks in advance

    Hello,

    Starting 6.7 and 6.5 U2 , site affinity is removed on fresh deployments.. This is already documented

    VMware vCenter Server 6.5 Update 2 Release Notes

    IMPORTANT: Site names in vCenter Server instances configured in Embedded Linked Mode must default to Default-First-Site and not be modified.

    First vCenter in 6.5U2/6.7, will by default go to DEFAULT-FIRST-SITE and respective other vcenters in the linked mode would be in default-site

    This is by design now

    thanks,

    MS
