vCenter Server with external PSC in linked mode

Hello everyone,

I have an environment consisting of 4 vCenter servers and 4 PSCs connected in linked mode,so four locations, one SSO domain. There are 4 ESXi hosts and VSAN local disk virtualization technology at each location. The version of vSphere (ESXi, vCenter) is 6.5 0d. We want to upgrade our environment to 7.0 U1c.

What is the best option to upgrade the environment since we have four remote locations in link mode with external PSC,steps?

How to do "switching" from external PSC to embedded and again everything stays in linked mode as it was, without compromising production?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Best regards,

Milos

When you upgrade to vCenter 7.0, the convergence process is inbuilt during upgrade

https://blogs.vmware.com/vsphere/2020/03/vsphere-7-vcenter-server-7-migration-upgrades.html

So there are no additional steps required to make it embedded. Please go through the above link and upgrade documentation. Please check the compatibility for upgrade using VMware Interoperability Matrix https://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/sim/interop_matrix.php

thanks,

MS
