vCenter Server 6.5 503 Service Unavailable and don't see vSphere Web client service

All -

I installed vCenter Server 6.5 successfully a few months ago and it was working fine. Now I get this error in a web browser:

503 Service Unavailable (Failed to connect to endpoint: [class Vmacore::Http::NamedPipeServiceSpec:0x000000a052fbb510] _serverNamespace = / action = Allow _pipeName =\\.\pipe\vmware-vpxd-webserver-pipe) .

I have seen many people referring to the vSphere Web Client Service but just do not see that as an installed service. Event logs show nothing. All vmware

services are running. Also an ODBC connection to the SQL server tests okay.

What happened???

Hi,

You can try the workaround mentioned in article below

503 error on vCSA 6.5.0a running on ESXi 6.5.0a

Looks like the solution worked for many instances like this.

Note:Please read the instructions carefully and try the workaround.

Log into vcenter server using http://<vcenter-server-fqdn>:5480

check overall health , if its not good i.e warning or error then do following

Log-in to vcsa (appliance ) enable shell and run "df -h"

if any of the disk partition is 100% then follow VMware KB

vCenter Server Appliance 6.0 services fail due to 100% usage of /storage/seat disk (2119809) | VMwar...

Another KB if you fail to execute Postgres commands due to space issue as part of cleanup.

Increasing the disk space for the VMware vCenter Server Appliance in vSphere 6.0 (2126276) | VMware ...

If its due to space issue it should be solved.
