'vCenter Server 4' Linked mode operation

I have briefly testet linked mode, and found one big problem (for me anyway). It seems there is no way to give a user only access to a specific linked VC. If the user has no permission on the 'master' VC a permission error is displayed. I want regular users of a linked VC to not know anything about the 'master' VC or other linked VC's.

Anyone have insight into this issue?

You only need to give them read only rights at the very source - no need to give them any further rights

You can then control permissions on each item in the VC to whatever level you like.

They basically need the ability to authenticate - set the permissions at the 'hosts anmd clusters' level and remove any rights on the tree down

One day I will virtualise myself . . .

How about just pointing these users at the web gui on their particular VC? Uness there is functionality missing in the Web GUI, which I have not come across, this seems like a good option. The Web Gui has no knowledge of linked mode.
