vCenter MS SQL 2008 support

Hi,

Does anyone have an idea what release of vCenter will support Microsoft SQL 2008?

Thanks

vSphere supports SQL 2008 for the VC database - it also support WIndows 2008 for the installation of vCenter 4.0

Henrin,

See page 10 of http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vi3_35/esx_3/r35/vi3_35_25_compat_matrix.pdf. There is no mention of SQL 2008 in native or sql 2005 compatibility mode. I'm sticking with SQL 2005 for now.

If you take a look at you will find the answer, the problem is that even though vCenter supports SQL Server 2008, Update Manage is only supported on Enterprise editions of SQL Server 2008[http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vsphere4/r40/vsp_compatibility_matrix.pdf]
