Have read all i can about cloning process in vCenter 4.1 using vSphere 4.1
My task is to clone an already domain member vm and keep the source in production and also activate the clone. OS for vm is 2008r2. I have been trying to clone using customization wizard including changing name adding key and set it to workgroup etc. These setting did not apply could found settings defined in a sysprep folder below the systemdrive root. Tried to run sysprep directly from cloned OS, and it gave my fatal error.
Right now i have made another clone without using customization in wmware to try to run sysprep from that one, but this kind of procedure cannot be best practice.
So what is the preferred method in my above task?
