vCenter Alarms - Global Setting.

We have a single vCenter server managing a number of host across multiple locations (Data Centers) and within each Data Center we have folders for Development, Production etc etc finally within folders we have the clusters, Virtual Center --> Data Centers --> Folders --> Clusters

Now for my question, we would like to setup all the Alarms at the Virtual Center level but selectively enable or disable the alarms at different levels, for obvious reasons we want to receive alerts for production hosts but not necesaarily for devlopment hosts. The only way that I can see we can acheive this is to customise/setup the alerts individually at each level which due to the number of alarms and our structure is very difficulty to maintain.

Hopefully I've missed a key new feature Smiley Happy that will allow me to enable / disable alarms at various levels, if not this needs to be added to the feature request list for future vCenter releases.

Thanks

I think that there isn't a simple solutions.

Also change the action (for example add a new mail or a new trap) on multiple alarms could be a "nightmare".

Probably the only solution is using scripting or CLI.

You can try to start from this PowerShell script:
