vCenter 6.0 send email using TLS

I just installed vCenter Server Appliance 6.0.0 and would like to be able to send email alerts directly from this appliance to my Office 365 email account "smtp.office365.com" but it requires port 587 and TLS.  In the advanced settings there are options for the following items but not for enabling TLS.  Is this something that can me added?

mail.smtp.port

mail.smtp.username

mail.smtp.password

Any help in getting this running without having to use a Windows Server SMTP relay would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Did you get an answer to this?  I am trying to do this same thing for a customer and can't figure out how to get it working either.

Jacob,

I did not get this to work.  Apparently VMware does not know that TLS is extremely important for Office 365 (Microsoft hosted exchange) email.  Even most copiers support TLS encryption for sending email.

I hope VMware wakes up soon and provides support for this.  I worked around this issue by setting up a Gmail account and sending it to that account using their Restricted Gmail SMTP server to get email alerts.

I hope this help you.
