vCenter 5: missing performance data - help!

Some - but not all - performance data is missing in my vCenter environment and I can't figure out how to fix it. For example, realtime data is there for everything, but day/week/month/year is missing for a lot of hosts/VMs, or the data is only there for, say, CPU but not disk ops. (See attached pics.)

I've checked out the SQL environment and as far as I can tell, all the jobs are there (see pic) and they're all running okay. What else can I check to fix this?

Oh and I should've said: vCenter is running on a Windows Server 2008 R2 VM and its SQL db is MS SQL Server 2008 R2, running on its own Server 2008 R2 VM.

This is a common problem that I've seen, but the solution varies. There was someone else who recently had this problem and found a resolution:

Let me know if you find your answer there.
