vCenter 4.1 install failed on Server 2k8 R2

I am trying to install a standalone 4.1 VC on a new 2K8 R2 virtual server that was just created. When getting to the end of the install I get the following. I have read article after article of removing ADAM but everytime I reboot it comes right back. I am up against the wall and out of ideas. It is in a 2000 AD.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
