vCenter 4.1 SQL server 2008 best practices

I was wondering if there is best practices documentation for a SQL server 2008 vCenter 4.1 databases. I am also looking to see if VMware provides a SQL database maintenance best practices list or if they recommend following Microsoft Best practice for SQL database maintenance.

this pdf is still relevant

http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/vc_microsoft_sql_server.pdf

along with the KB below, you should have a good plan.

http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1025914

also, I would suggest running you DB instance in simple mode instead of full recovery.

They don't differ, same practice. No matter what anyone tells you, SQL Server on Windows 2008 and 2008 R2 is the SAME thing. So if you want to use Windows 2008 R2, it's fine.

Just make sure you set the memory for the SQL instance properly so if you give the server 4GB of RAM, SQL should be configured to use 3GB and reserve 512 for the OS, just so you don't run out of memory.
