vCenter

Some information has gone around that there is a VM limit in Virtual Center of about 2000 vm's. Not sure if this is true or not, but if we consolidate the two virtual centers we have currently we will be well over that 2000 mark if that is a true limit.

anyone have an opinion if we should keep two virtual centers or consolidate to one if the number of vm's will be over 2000 servers?

Yes it is true

so basically we will not have a choice but to have two Virtual Centers.

vCenter 2.5 has a hardlimit of 200 hosts and 2000 guests, this has however been raised to 3000 guests in vCenter 4. and this can grow to 30000 guest with the ability to create Linked vCenter instances.
