I am using svmotion to migrate vm's from one datastore to another ( VC V2.5.0, Servers ESX 3.5.0 ) and have run into 2 issues:
In one case the process appears to have not cleaned up after itself, I.E. the vmname-flat.vmdk & vmname.vmdk files are in both the old & new locations...
In a couple of other cases a file named .vnfs-somehexstring-vmware.log is left behind in the old location and keeps getting updated with messages like:
Apr 07 17:14:47.511: vmx| VMXVmdb_LoadRawConfig: Loading raw config
Apr 07 22:34:42.942: vmx| TOOLS received request in VMX to set option 'synctime' -> '0'
Apr 07 22:34:42.955: vmx| VMXVmdb_LoadRawConfig: Loading raw config
Apr 08 02:04:35.773: vmx| TOOLS received request in VMX to set option 'synctime' -> '0'
Apr 08 02:04:35.788: vmx| VMXVmdb_LoadRawConfig: Loading raw config
Can I just delete the left over vmdk files?
What are the .vnfs files and what can be done to move/remove them?
Thanks
