Hi All,

I have ESX servers in a HA/DRS cluster that have access to multiple datastores. Is that possible to allow a group of users to create new VM only on a particular datastore ?

I believe there is a lot of desire in the community to have this capability, and feature requests have been submitted (and I know ideas on how to code this have been conjured). Which version of VI3 are you running? I haven't played with VC 2.5 / ESX 3.5 extensively yet, but looking at the doc (Appendix A - Admin Guide: ) I don't see that the granular privileges necessary to build a permission set that would make this happen exist... yet.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I would like to be in this case.

I am running ESX 3.0.1 and VC 2.

I hope you are wrong too but I am not sure

I can tell you for sure that it is NOT possible with ESX3.0.x/VC2.0.x

Other than by providing only the LUNs you want them to access to specific ESX hosts / clusters.
